Maggie Grogan, Muse

Maggie Grogan, development director at nationwide placemaker, Muse, has been promoted to managing director Midlands, in recognition of her major contribution to both the business in the North West and its growth in the Midlands.

Solihull-born, Grogan, joined Muse during the height of the pandemic in 2020 as senior development manager, working on a range of projects, including in Chester and Salford Central. Following The English Cities Fund’s – the national joint venture between Muse, Legal & General and Homes England - appointment to the £2.5bn, 250-acre Crescent Salford masterplan, Maggie was promoted to the role of development director in recognition of her efforts.

On her promotion, Maggie Grogan, managing director, Midlands at Muse, said: “I’m proud to have been given the opportunity to lead our growth in the Midlands and support the delivery of the Midlands Engine. Being from the region, I’m excited that our business will play a part in building a brighter future, together with partners right across the region, as we create opportunities for growth, investment and prosperity.

James O’Donovan, Paul Green, David Harrison & Don Grantham, One Beyond

Multi-award-winning software development and digital transformation specialist, One Beyond, has announced four new senior appointments to its team. James O’Donovan is appointed as chief operating officer, Paul Green as chief commercial officer, David Harrison as strategic partnerships director and Don Grantham is the new chairman.

New chief operating officer, James, is a qualified chartered accountant and joins One Beyond following a successful career in PE backed technology businesses; transforming operations to ensure successful scaling from founder run companies to team driven businesses.

Joining the team as chief commercial officer, Paul brings over 15 years’ experience to One Beyond, including seven years driving the performance of one of the UKs fastest growing tech service businesses. He is a trusted advisor to many IT leaders across the UK, from scale ups to blue chip brands, helping clients achieve their goals strategically, operationally and commercially.

David has over 15 years in technology solution sales, with extensive experience working with IT leaders across the public and private sector, enabling their organisations to realise key strategic ambitions and mission critical activities. As new strategic partnerships director, David is responsible for engaging partnerships across the business and driving One Beyond’s go-to-market strategy.

Finally, Don joins One Beyond with over 40 years’ experience in the technology industry, having most recently held the role of President of Central and Eastern Europe for Microsoft, overseeing 33 countries.

Ed Foulkes, Clarke Willmott LLP

Ed Foulkes has been appointed the new head of office at national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP in Manchester.

Ed grew up in Stockport and joined Clarke Willmott as a partner in 2012. As head of the firm’s corporate team in Manchester, he advises clients across a range of sectors including financial services, technology, fintech and healthcare. His specialisms include mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, buy-outs, joint ventures and restructuring.

Clarke Willmott’s Manchester office was founded in 2010 and has grown to become a full service offering with more than 70 staff.

Ed Foulkes said: “I am proud to be appointed to this role at an exciting time for the office and the firm generally. Our Manchester base is home to fantastic specialist teams and has recently attracted some great new hires. I expect that growth to continue. As a group we will continue to build on our core values, support the local community and provide exceptional legal service.”

Clarke Willmott CEO Stephen Rosser said: “I would like to congratulate Ed on his appointment. It is a crucial role within the firm and we look forward to Ed and the team continuing to build on the foundations that have been laid.”
