Northside Farm Gets Green Light to Build Purpose-Built Office Space for Expanding Team

AWARD-WINNING wedding venue Northside Farm has revealed plans have been given the green light to build an additional space onto its land to support its increasing growth.

Northside Farm in Horsley, Northumberland, will start construction on a new purpose-built office space this month to accommodate its growing team and provide a private, comfortable meeting room space for couples looking to plan their wedding, plus a reception area and kitchen.

The works follow its newly landscaped gardens by Nurtured Earth and extension of the car park as part of its self-funded £20,000 investment into upgrading its amenities for guests.

The new offices will also create more room to support its recruitment drive, as owners Olivia and Ralph Lockey are currently recruiting for more coordinators, bar and waiting staff, as part of a five year plan to grow the site.

Olivia said: “This latest expansion form the beginning of a new five year growth plan to initiate more lavish additions across the site now that we are on a growth trajectory with bookings almost full up to the end of 2024. This latest development will accommodate our growing team as well as providing a more relaxed environment to host and deliver the best service for our couples.

“The pandemic meant that we had to put many of our plans on hold so we are delighted to be able to finally move forward.”

The new office space will be located at the rear of Northside Farm’s barn venue and dedicated gin gang ceremony room, whilst providing easy access to all areas of the farm. In addition, the newly landscaped gardens will offer a peaceful and relaxing environment for couples and guests.

Ms Lockey added: “We have always been committed to constantly maintaining and improving our beautiful property and we are excited about the other plans we will be announcing over the next few years.”

The new 26x33ft office space with elegant meeting room will be completed by the end of April. To date, the Lockey family has invested over £600,000 in restorations and refurbishment to the 100 year old farm buildings.

Situated just ten miles west of Newcastle city centre Northside Farm was established in 2012 as a luxury glamping site with timber wigwams and onsite facilities. Since converting their barn, gin gang, courtyard and gardens by hand, the owners have enjoyed steady success after opening its doors as a luxury rustic wedding venue in 2016 which accommodates up to 150 seated guests and over 200 evening guests.
