Six appointments, Simpson Millar

Law firm Simpson Millar has welcomed experienced Solicitor, Rachel Scales, and five new Paralegals to its award winning, national Education Law team.

Rachel has more than 10 years’ legal experience and previously owned her own business working as a freelance solicitor specialising in SEN. She joins the firm’s London-based team where she will support clients working across a range of education law cases.

As part of the continued expansion Simpson Millar’s Education Law department, which forms part of the firm’s wider Public Law division, the team has also welcomed five new Paralegals, including Shea Kelly, Emily Chalk, Clara Jenkins, Mia Cappabianca and Elena Funnell, all of whom will be based out of the firm’s London office.

Sarah Woosey, a Partner within the team, welcomed the new arrivals, saying that their ‘experience and expertise’ would allow the firm to take on more cases, and support more families with ‘urgent and often distressing’ matters relating to accessing education.

Duncan Palmer, Your Tribe

Premium London student accommodation developer Your Tribe has appointed Duncan Palmer as the new director of student accommodation following £29.6m recent funding from Paragon Bank for their upcoming Old Kent Road development and as the company prepares to launch their first live development on Ilderton Road this Autumn.

Richard Wright, CPP

Richard Wright, Director at UK property consultancy Commercial Property Partners Ltd (CPP) has become a Shareholder at the firm.

Since joining CPP, Wright has concluded over £1bn investment transactions alongside fellow directors, including the £98m acquisition of a Sainsburys distribution unit in Tamworth last year.

Wright will continue to lead and expand the national capitals market remit in his new position, focusing on the Logistics and MLI markets. Wright recently concluded deals with a number of key clients including Cabot, ARA Dunedin, Columbia Threadneedle, Clearbell, Industrials REIT, Vengrove and Railpen.

Commenting on the announcement, Wright said: “CPP offers a highly entrepreneurial and industrial focused firm, which I am proud to be part of. I am excited about the ongoing development and ambitious growth aspirations of CPP over the coming years in my new role as Equity Director, spearheading our capitals market offering.”
