This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Irwin Mitchell, Leeds Building Society & Trinity Leeds and White Rose. Read on to find out more.

Terry Saeedi & Matthew Ambler, Irwin Mitchell

Irwin Mitchell in Leeds has announced the appointment of partner Terry Saeedi and senior associate Matthew Ambler from Clyde & Co’s pensions team. Terry has specialised in pensions law for over 25 years and advises employers and trustees on the full range of legal issues including scheme restructurings and disputes.

Previously the head of Pensions at Clyde & Co, Terry advises clients across a range of sectors, including insurance, energy and transport. She is a past chair of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association Yorkshire Group and a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.

In her new role at Irwin Mitchell, she will be based in the firm’s Leeds office and will operate nationally, working closely with Penny Cogher and the national head of pensions Martin Jenkins.

Also moving from Clyde & Co, Matthew Ambler will be based in the Leeds office. He advises employers, trustees, contractors and public sector bodies on the full range of pensions issues. Matthew operates across several sectors, including banking, infrastructure and energy. Both are being joined by Practice Development Lawyer, Harriet Fletcher, who sits in the sits the Knowledge Management team.

**Farah Buckley, Leeds Building Society

Leeds Building Society has appointed Farah Buckley as a new non executive director.

Farah joins the Society Board alongside four executive directors and six non executive directors, including Chair Iain Cornish. She brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, with a focus on audit, corporate finance and private equity.

After qualification as a chartered accountant at Deloitte, Farah has gone on to a successful executive career, most recently as Head of Investment Solutions at Hermes GPE and Head of UK at Adveq, and has extensive experience at Board level in audit, investment strategy, risk and ESG.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with a mutual, purpose-led organisation,” said Farah. It’s an exciting time to be joining the Society as it continues to evolve and innovate to support its members now and in the future.“

Welcoming her to the Board, Leeds Building Society chair Iain Cornish said: “I’m delighted to welcome Farah to the Society, where she is a valued addition to our Board Audit and Risk committees. Her extensive knowledge of strategy, investment and ESG broadens and complements the other Directors in their oversight of the Society.”

**Ashleigh Kellett, Trinity Leeds and White Rose

Landsec-owned shopping centres Trinity Leeds and White Rose have both made appointments in the centre management teams this month, including two new assistant centre directors and a new, shared centre director role for the two sites.

Ashleigh Kellett has been appointed assistant centre director at White Rose Shopping Centre, Ashleigh’s new role will involve leading on the retail mix of more than 100 brands at White Rose, plus providing guidance and support to the operations team.

Meanwhile Nick Jones, previously senior retail manager at Trinity Leeds, will now take on the role of assistant centre director. Nick joined Trinity Leeds three months before it opened to support brands ahead of the launch, drawing on his previous experience of working at Adidas as retail area manager for its stores across Holland, Belgium, and the UK.

He said: “I’m looking forward to bringing my 40 years of experience in retail to the role and ensuring Trinity Leeds remains a key part of the community and the city centre shopping experience.”

Of her time so far at White Rose, Ashleigh Kellett said: “Every day is different, and I enjoy the variety that my role offers. The faces – the guests, the brands, and the team members – are my favourite thing about White Rose, so it’s great to have such a people-centric position. The centre has a real community feel.”
