Zaneta Andraszczyk, Rollits LLP

A University of Hull graduate who couldn’t speak English when she arrived from her native Poland at the age of 12 has now qualified as a solicitor with leading law firm Rollits LLP.

The firm has strengthened its commercial property team with the addition of Zaneta Andraszczyk who was admitted as a solicitor in March after completing her two-year Period of Recognised Training.

Zaneta graduated in law from the University of Hull in 2018 and then studied for her Legal Practice Course alongside a Masters degree at the University of Law in Leeds before joining Rollits in March 2021.

During her training and since qualification, Zaneta has been involved in transactions relating to buying, selling and leasing of commercial properties.

She also helps with business development by attending events organised to promote the firm, including careers fairs where she passes on advice and insight to students taking the first steps in their legal careers.

Chris Crystal, who leads the commercial property team at Rollits, commented: “Zaneta is an excellent addition to our experienced commercial property team. It’s great that Zaneta views Rollits as a good and supportive route into a legal career and we look forward to supporting her with her career development.”

24 promotions, Taylor Emmet

Award-winning law firm Taylor Emmet has announced a new head of personal injury in a series of 24 promotions across their offices in Sheffield, Rotherham and Derbyshire, acknowledging their achievements in the last 12 months.

John Green has been promoted to head of personal injury in recognition of his hard work and commitment to the company. He replaces Jonathan Stittle, who is retiring after 37 years with Taylor Emmet.

Taylor Emmet has also announced the appointment of one associate director, eight senior associates, four associates, one senior manager, one manager and eight paralegals.

In their new roles, those who have been promoted will apply their ever-growing expertise to strengthen departments across the firm, including clinical negligence, personal injury, wills and probate and corporate.

The National Science and Media Museum has appointed Charlotte Connelly as head curator and Sally Folkard as head of screen and cultural engagement.

Charlotte Connelly, a historian of science and technology has been appointed as the museum’s Head Curator, bringing over a decade of experience working with science and technology collections. Most recently, Charlotte was museum curator at The Polar Museum at the Scott Polar Research Institute.

As head curator, Charlotte will lead a team of curators to shape stories through exhibitions and public programmes, while overseeing the museum’s world class collections of photography, film, television, animation, video games and sound technologies.

Sally Folkard has been appointed as the museum’s head of screen and cultural engagement. Previously head of Film Hub North, Sally brings over 15 years’ experience in the film industry with extensive expertise in audience development, cultural regeneration and organisational change.

In her role as head of screen and cultural engagement, Sally will oversee the museum’s festivals and cinema programme including the annual film festival, Widescreen Weekend, while championing screen opportunities to engage new and diverse audiences.

Jo Quinton-Tulloch, director of the National Science and Media Museum, commented: “Both Charlotte and Sally bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the museum at a very exciting time.

“They will be instrumental in ensuring that we are delivering on our mission of exploring the science and culture of image and sound technologies, while we undergo a major transformation through our Sound and Vision project.”
