Helen Dunn & Graeme Wood, RelyOn Nutec UK

RelyOn Nutec UK (RelyOn), leaders in practical and digital training for traditional and renewable energy, promotes Helen Dunn as head of sector renewables, to drive sector growth in offshore and onshore wind, carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen.

Graeme Wood, regional solutions manager, also joins RelyOn. Graeme has spent the last decade working with a cluster of local colleges in Teesside, developing solutions for upskilling and reskilling people into new sectors, and also set up the Teesworks Skills Academy to support the redevelopment of the largest brownfield site in Europe.

Helen Dunn commented: “I’m delighted to be leading the renewables division at RelyOn. It is critical that as offshore wind, hydrogen and CCUS projects become part and parcel of our energy mix, we support the new or transitioning workforce to enter these sectors.

Martin Mowbray & Andrew Finnigan, Avant Homes

Sunderland-based housebuilder Avant Homes North East has strengthened its senior team with two new appointments to further enable the housebuilder’s regional expansion strategy. Martin Mowbray and Andrew Finnigan join as land director and development director respectively.

Martin Mowbray is returning to Avant Homes where he was previously head of land. He has 17 years’ experience in the housebuilding industry, having also held positions at Miller Homes, Husband & Brown and Gladedale Homes.

With 23 years’ experience in housebuilding, Andrew Finnigan will lead the regional development team while also overseeing the business’s architectural, engineering and commercial functions. He previously worked at Miller Homes and Cussins.

Avant Homes North East managing director, Don Anderson, said: “These two senior appointments will play an essential role in achieving our ambitious growth plans for the region. They both bring a wealth of experience in their individual expertise to Avant Homes and I look forward to working with them to delivery of our expansion strategy.”

Lee Humble, Azets

Azets, the UK top 10 accountancy group, has appointed Lee Humble as its new UK Head of Corporate Finance.

Based in Newcastle, Lee joined Azets through acquisition in April 2022. He was immediately promoted to Partner and has since led Azets’ North East corporate finance team to its second successive year of record results, including five transactions in the healthcare sector within the past five months.

Lee is a seasoned specialist with significant experience gained as a business owner and in senior leadership roles within banking and corporate finance over the past 16 years, in London and the North East. Lee provides transactional, strategic, growth, and funding advice, and is the recipient of several industry awards.

Lee Humble, UK head of corporate finance at Azets, said: “We have a talented team of corporate finance specialists at Azets, and I am honoured to step into this national leadership role at what is such an exciting time for our company, as we embark on our five-year Pathway strategy with fresh investment.”
