Why hospitality businesses should consider a international recruitment strategy
The Office for National Statistics reports that 130,000 vacancies are still needed across the hospitality and catering sector, to fulfill the current skills shortage and is among the official bodies reporting that this is actively forcing businesses to reduce their opening hours or trading days.
A tangible solution could lie in businesses deploying an international recruitment strategy to help with what can be a lengthy process to help streamline international recruitment and immigration, comments Larisa Budaeva, founder of Nation.better
“The figures clearly demonstrate that vacancies are not reducing quickly enough to fulfill hospitality’s enormous potential, but the recruitment process can be a double-edged sword for those who don’t know where to start.
“From working with customers in hospitality and catering, we know that talent from overseas is needed to address the chronic skills shortage, yet it can be a time-consuming and somewhat daunting process to find the right people.
“Recruiting UK talent can often take many days each month and this figure can double if exploring international options. But this doesn’t have to be the case.
“While international recruitment offers a number of benefits to find incredible talent, the hospitality industry as a whole can reap the benefits of working with specialists such as ourselves to find staff vacancies in order to maximise profits during the remainder of the summer season as well as gaining a sponsor license.”
While it will take many months and perhaps years to bring the latest figures down, Larisa and her team know that they are paving the way in the international recruitment field specifically to help hospitality businesses.
