This week’s round up of National appointments includes adi Group, Orega & Broadband Genie. Read on to find out more.

Darren Lewis, adi Group

Following its hugely successful launch, multidisciplinary engineering firm adi Group’s new Life Sciences division is already making its mark on the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry under the lead of new managing director Darren Lewis.

Leading a multi-skilled team of like-minded industry professionals, Darren is thrilled to be a vital part of such a purpose-led business: ’I am incredibly excited to be at the helm of a highly expert team with the potential to do everything we set out to do from the start, and more,“ he said.

With 35 years of pharmaceutical design and build experience, Darren brings a wealth of relevant expertise to the role, managing every stage of a project, from engagement and estimating to delivery and validation, and beyond.

“I am particularly excited to join a leading business with a multifaceted, turnkey approach that reflects my own approach to business. We want to become a partner to our clients, their single point of responsibility to achieve success, a mindset that is intrinsic to adi Group as a whole,” he commented.

Keen to witness the positive impact the new managing director and his team will make on the industry is Paul Smith, chief operating officer at adi Group: “I am delighted to have Darren on board, an incredibly talented leader who will do an extraordinary job of leading the new team, a winning group of people united by a common goal,” he said.

Alan Pepper, Orega

Orega, the flexible workspace provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new high-profile CEO, Alan Pepper to the business. Alan will join Orega at the end of August to work closely with Zach Douglas and the rest of the existing management team to accelerate Orega’s growth plans.

Zach Douglas, one of the two original founders of Orega will remain active in the business as Executive Chairman and work closely with Alan on delivering Orega’s continued growth plans.

Zach Douglas said, “It’s an exciting time for Orega and the flex industry generally. As both the market and working practices remain uncertain, many businesses are looking at flexible space options that do not tie them into long leases and other long term financial commitments, but they also want high quality places to work and to attract staff.”

“Alan’s appointment will strengthen our team and support our continued growth. He has considerable experience in the industry with a strong reputation and I am excited about working closely with him when he joins the business.”

Alan Pepper said, “I am delighted to be joining Orega at this exciting time for the business and industry. I believe Orega’s Management Agreement model is the way forward for delivering high quality flex space.”

Eliza Vlachou, Broadband Genie

The UK price comparison site Broadband Genie has boosted its top team with the appointment of its first chief executive officer.

Eliza Vlachou has joined the business as it enjoys a period of rapid growth, fuelled by an increased public appetite for saving money on their broadband and a rise in the telecoms affiliate market. Last year it saw record revenue of £4.4m, up 145 per cent in five years, while the number of consumers switching hit an annual high, doubling over the same period.

Advances in internet speed and fierce competition in the market mean Broadband Genie is now used by customers to compare hundreds of broadband contracts and switch to save money on their bills. At Broadband Genie, Vlachou will lead a team from its headquarters in Cambridge. Genie Ventures moved to a tech hub in the city earlier this year.

Vlachou was previously the marketing director of e-commerce fintech Kuva. She has more than 15 years experience in the marketing and telecom sectors, with the majority spent in senior roles at TalkTalk, the UK’s fourth-largest broadband provider.

Eliza Vlachou, CEO at Broadband Genie, commented: “I’m excited to be joining the team at Broadband Genie and continuing its mission to become the website the nation visits to have its broadband questions answered, as well as helping people to switch and save as easily as possible.”
