Kevin Yates & Kristen Horler, Lift Brands
Lift Brands EMEA is delighted to welcome Kevin Yates as Chief Operations Officer and Kristen Horler as Head of Sales to further bolster their Snap Fitness operations in the UK & Ireland. The two new appointments come as they confirm 12 new openings across the regions before early 2024 which will take their gym footprint to 102 with plans to expand further.

I really believe in focusing on whatever it takes to build and nurture high-performing teams. You’ve got to foster a culture of commitment, innovation and talent development,“ said Kevin.
Kevin will be leading the UK & Ireland operation, overseeing all areas of the business with a particular focus on brand performance with our franchisees, ensuring they are as successful as possible at club level.
“Snap Fitness is gearing up for a crucial phase of their strategic development, with plans to unveil numerous new locations in the upcoming six months. I’m excited to be able to use my own business expansion experiences to assist franchisees in fostering substantial growth and making significant strides in their business.”
Kristen’s appointment as head of sales is another significant development for Snap Fitness. She joins with decades of experience in the franchising and fitness industries, after establishing and running her own successful fitness franchise, recently selling to a successful franchisee. She will now take an integral role in the expansion of the Snap Fitness brand alongside Kevin and the existing team.
Abdul Kadir, Richard Anthony Chartered Accountancy
One of North London’s leading independent chartered accountancy firms, Richard Anthony, has promoted its highly qualified and experienced tax manager, Abdul Kadir to tax director. Abdul has held his previous position at the practice for seven years now, assisting clients with tax compliance and advice across a range of complex areas.
In recognition of his dedication to the role and to support Richard Anthony’s continued plans for growth, the practice has appointed him as their new tax director. Within his new role, he will continue to guide and lead the tax team at Richard Anthony, while also building his portfolio of clients alongside the five Partners within the firm.
Michael Barnett, a Partner at Richard Anthony, said: “Abdul has proven himself to be an excellent tax manager and he is ideally suited for this new role. As we look to grow and further develop our practice it is important that we have the right people to lead us into the future and Abdul will continue to help us enhance our tax offering to clients.”

Marcus Hodges & Raphaël Koifman, Birchgrove
Birchgrove, the UK’s leading provider of rented retirement homes, has appointed a new chief operations officer and chief financial officer to help drive the company’s growth and support the predicted demand for rental homes in the next ten years.
Marcus Hodges, chief operating officer joins with over two decades’ commercial and operational management experience in co-living, BTR and student accommodation. Prior to Birchgrove, Hodges served as UK Operations Director for co-living provider The Collective, where he led a team of around 100 managers and operational staff in growing the UK business. Hodges has also served in senior operational roles for IQ Student Accommodation and Unite Students.
New CFO Raphaël Koifman joins Birchgrove with extensive experience in real estate finance. Koifman previously worked for several institutional lending platforms and banks, including Cheyne Capital, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank, Santander and Barclays Capital.
At property developer Avanton, and property investment firm Griffen, Koifman served as CFO where he was responsible for all operational, financial, tax and regulatory matters. As CFO of Birchgrove, his responsibilities will include all financial and tax aspects of the business and the sourcing of funding to support the growth of the company.
Honor Barratt, chief executive, Birchgrove said: “What we were looking for in Marcus and Raphael was all the knowledge we don’t have, namely how to roll out a portfolio at scale and speed, and how to drive the best possible yield on exit. With these two on board, every day we are honing our operations and bringing our model closer to BTR yields.”
