7 Ways That Writing A Book Can Transform Your Business

If you’re a business owner, whether you’re just starting out or are far more established, you’ll almost certainly be looking for ways to expand and grow. When it comes to getting visible and being known as THE person in your industry, many creatives and entrepreneurs turn to writing books as a way to establish themselves-and of course make an extra income from a different resource too. As an entrepreneur and author of my own bestselling business book, Sales Is Easy, If You Just Know How, I wanted to share with you why writing a book is just so powerful.

1. Positions yourself as an expert in your field.

This is one of the most important reasons to write a book. It is a great way to become known as an authority in your industry, which is exactly why I wrote my own book. It was something that filled with me uncertainty but it has helped establish me as one of the UK’s leading sales experts and helped grow my podcast (also called Sales is Easy, If You Know How) too!

2. Makes you money.

Writing a book can also be a great additional revenue stream too, especially if you self-publish and receive a higher % of the profits. This is perfect for passive income as once it has been written, you can earn money in your sleep from anyone who buys a copy! It really is the dream for an entrepreneur.

3. Opens doors to new opportunities.

I have had so many more opportunities since my book became a bestseller. It lead to celebrity recognition (I was ex-Dragon’s Den James Caan’s book of the week) and amazing media coverage. This year I was featured in Forbes, a huge goal of mine, and I know it wouldn’t have been possible without writing my own book.

4. It grows your audience

Writing your own book works as a lead magnet essentially in that it attracts and helps you grow your online audience. It’s a really great way to offer value and grow your audience on social media without having to spend a fortune on advertising.

5. Challenges you to go outside of your comfort zone

I am a big believer of pushing yourself to go outside your comfort zone. Writing a book was a goal I set myself during Covid. I am a massive believer of goals-they’ve changed my life and my business. But, I’m not a natural writer. I’m now so glad I challenged myself to do something different and I learned so much during the process.

6. You get to help more people

Most of us start our own business as we’re passionate about helping others and have a strong sense of purpose. Yet we can’t work with every single person. Writing a book allows you to reach as many people as possible through your words, and it’s also a low-cost item which means you can support people in a way that’s truly affordable and accessible too.

7. You get to throw a party for your book launch

Finally who doesn’t love a book launch? Writing a book also gives you the great excuse to throw a party to celebrate you, your business and all your achievements.

There are so many reasons why you should write a book, and there is no better time than right now, so what’s stopping you?
