Birmingham waterside development secures £72m in sales ahead of 2025 launch

Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf, a new community-led, waterside 23-storey residence under construction in Birmingham, has sold all 266 of its apartments ahead of completion in Q3 2025.

Select Property is the developer and operator behind the upcoming residence on Princip Street, which broke ground this Summer. The build-to-rent specialist has secured £72m in sales, fully selling all Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf’s apartments with nearly two years to go until completion on site.

The development, comprising one and two-bedroom apartments, will bring a community focused residential experience to the city, with a modern design and spaces that promote “community and inclusivity”. Its amenities will also enhance residents’ wellbeing, with a gymnasium and rooftop garden offering views across the city skyline.

Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf will also feature a fully integrated co-working space designed to be an extension of residents’ homes, free for use at all times. The building will also feature some of Birmingham’s most pet-friendly ownership policies with no restrictions on breed or size.

The residence will also feature an open lounge area and urban garden that will host events for residents. These community-driven activities are designed to foster relationships between neighbours and friends and connect residents with local brands and independent businesses.

Affinity Living is located just a 10-minute walk from Snow Hill Station and Colmore Row, the heart of the city’s central business district. It’s also within close proximity of the city centre’s “bustling” scene of indie bars, restaurants and independent retailers as well as shopping hotspot of The Jewellery Quarter.

A further five-minute walk will see residents access attractions like the Bullring shopping centre and connectivity to the rest of the UK through Birmingham New Street Station. Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf will also be within walking distance to the newly proposed Curzon Street Station, which will be the heart of HS2 in the West Midlands.

Adam Price, CEO of Select Property, commented: “Buyers and global investors are sold on the winning formula we’ve created with Affinity Living in Manchester, focused on building resident communities with inspirational spaces that nurture wellbeing.

“Selling out our first Birmingham residence represents a huge vote of confidence for the city and its residential market, which has only enhanced our mission to bring Affinity Living to the ambitious young professionals of the UK’s second city.”
