Caddick Group and Leeds Playhouse celebrate a decade of partnership

Caddick Group and Leeds Playhouse recently hosted city stakeholders and special guests, welcoming them to an exclusive pre-show reception ahead of the press night for James Brining’s Oliver!.

The event heralded a decade of collaboration between the two institutions, stemming from a shared vision to anchor culture at the heart of the regeneration of the Quarry Hill area.

Local Leeds artist, Emma Hardaker was also present, discussing her role within the artistic and cultural reimaginging of the Quarry Hill district and offering attendees the opportunity to screen print their own tote bags to take away.

From an initial sponsorship of Leeds Playhouse’s 2014 festive production, White Christmas, Caddick Group and Moda have remained capital partners throughout the Playhouse’s two year extension and refurbishment and the construction of the new SOYO Leeds neighborhood from 2019 onwards, the final phase of which has recently received planning permission from Leeds City Council.

Myles Hartley, managing director at Caddick Developments, said: “Over the last ten years, our work together has evolved into a true collaboration that goes beyond traditional sponsorship. Being capital partners with Leeds Playhouse has allowed our relationship to blossom, creating a shared vision for Leeds’ ongoing cultural evolution.”

James Brining, chief executive and artistic director at Leeds Playhouse, added: “Our partnership with Caddick Group has not only facilitated the production of some of the fantastic theatre that we are known for, but their ongoing commitment and investment has also played a key role in allowing us to expand our operations, improve our spaces and welcome even more people to enjoy all that we have to offer.

“As the SOYO development works towards completion, we look forward to continuing to work together, ensuring the continued improvement of this area for all who participate within it.”
