New appointments at Lichfields London support growth and expansion in 2024

Planning and development consultancy Lichfields has announced eight appointments at its London office as it develops and expands its operations to meet demand for services.

Ross Raftery has been appointed Associate Director, joining from Deloitte, and bringing ten years’ experience and expertise in public and private sector planning projects. This includes work on housing, mixed-use regeneration, commercial development and green belt proposals.

Ollie Collins joins as a Senior Planner from Avison Young bringing more than five years’ planning and consultancy experience to the role, while Emma Taylor and Ed Welch are appointed as Economics Consultants, joining from Buro Happold and AECOM respectively. Additionally, Lincoln Cheung, Michelle Gan, Liora Lederman and Amy Jones also join the team as part of the company’s ‘Brighter Minds’ graduate programme.

The appointments come as Lichfields, which won the ‘Consultancy Practice of the Year 2023’ award at the Property Week Resi Awards, continues to see strong growth, with the London office currently involved in a number of major projects across London and the South East of England.

These include the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway Project; the ‘Home of Production’ TV and Film Studio Campus in Bedfordshire; the Berol Quarter new neighbourhood in Tottenham Hale; and the Portal, a 36-storey residential development at North Acton.

The company recently secured planning permission for the 3,700 home Dunton Hills Garden Village in Essex. It is part of the consultancy team supporting Government on design and implementation of its digital planning reform programme.

Revenue at the London office increased by 13 per cent in the past 12 months and the office now employs 117 people, up 7 per cent from last year.

Commenting on the new appointments, Matthew Spry, Senior Director and Head of the London Office, said: “As we look forward to 2024, we continue to see strong demand for our services across an ever more diverse and high-quality client base. I’m delighted to welcome Ross, Ollie, Emma, Ed, Lincoln, Michelle, Liora and Amy to the team – they are all valuable additions to our expanding London office.”
