RWO breaks new ground with record growth
A Newcastle and Leeds-based engineering firm is experiencing unprecedented success, with its geotechnical services reporting their ‘strongest trading period to date’.
RWO’s ground engineering services division has achieved nearly £100,000 in sales for September alone, with a strong pipeline of work lined up for the rest of the year.
The operation, which specialises in geotechnical services such as exploration, desk studies, and soil and rock assessments, is set to close out the year with significant growth.
Director Chris Rudd said: “We are seeing high demand for our services from all development and property quarters.
“We are seeing clients benefitting from our strong technical insight, leadership qualities, cost effective services and project management experience.”
By the end of this year, the geotechnical department expects to have secured sales growth of £700,000 from a standing start in late 2022, and is on target to achieve £1 million in revenues by 2026.
Recent projects with major housebuilders and developers - including Persimmon Homes North East, Gleeson Homes, Vistry (North East & Yorkshire) and Mulgrave Properties - are driving the department’s success. The company has also secured its first work in the Teesworks Freeport development and the data centre sector.
And with demand continuing to grow, RWO is set to expand its geotechnical services operation by recruiting more geotechnical specialists.
Chris added: “Looking ahead, the forecast is bright as we continue to see opportunities across the UK as construction and the new homes sector, in particular, continues to invest to meet the demand for new homes.
“There’s plenty of geoenvironmental engineering work in the long term with a number of new projects already started or coming online very soon.”
