Legal firm looks to grow with city office switch
A legal firm says it has paved the way for staff expansion in an office move.
Kennedys Law is switching to Wellbar Central, in Newcastle’s Gallowgate area, following a £1 million renovation of the site.
Officials say the 2554sq ft fifth-floor suite will enable the international legal operator to “accommodate further growth as it actively recruits to expand teams”.
Andrea Ward, Kennedys Law partner, said: “Having established our Newcastle office at Rotterdam House in May last year with a team of six, we have now grown to 13 colleagues and counting.
“We wanted a central location that was easily accessible, and the environmental credentials were also very important, so Wellbar Central was the perfect choice.
“We are excited to move into this dynamic space.”
Wellbar Central is already home to Global Radio, Turnitin, Sky, XPS Pension Group, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and Advance Business Software.
In June, law firm Eversheds Sutherland announced it was moving to the building.
Nathan Douglas, senior surveyor at joint letting agent Knight Frank, said: “The investment in this Grade A office space has been considerable, with works offering a sustainable, contemporary working environment that appeals to thriving and ambitious organisations such as Kennedys Law.”
The legal firm was represented by London-based commercial property consultancy Spring4.
