Carney Consultancy strengthens with veteran hire
In support of its commitment to supporting armed forces personnel transitioning into civilian careers, North Tyneside-based health & safety consultancy and training provider Carney Consultancy has appointed James Pearson as a health and safety assistant.
A former soldier with seven years of service in the infantry and as a petroleum operator, James brings a wealth of experience and discipline to the team and will strengthen the firm’s dedication to safety and employee development.
Originally from Crystal Palace, James moved to the North East in 2017.
He said: “I really enjoyed my time in the military. I was based at Catterick but being in the army often meant long stints away from home. I love the North East and this is where I want to settle.
“I wanted a role that offered structure, strong progression routes and where I could be a team player and the opportunity at Carney Consultancy was perfect.
“It is very positive to see a company actively look to recruit ex-armed forces and I am looking forward to supporting new colleagues who join the company from a similar background.”
Angela Carney, managing director at Carney Consultancy, added: “James is an example of why we are tapping into the skill set and helping to guide ex-military personnel into job roles at our company.
“He has a strong work ethic, bringing the values and ethics taught from his military training to the commercial workplace.
“As we turn our attention towards 2025, we will be recruiting further ex-military personnel who we have found have a breadth of aptitude, skills and training which are transferable and adding real value to our business.”
