Wealth firm Perspective celebrates deals century

A financial advisory and wealth management firm says it has laid the foundations for further success after completing a century of takeovers.

Perspective Financial Group has bought nine market operators.

The deals have added £1 billion of assets under advice to the business, as well as 2500 client households, six offices and 48 staff.

They mean Perspective – which complements its Newcastle base with sites in Darlington, Hexham and Harrogate, North Yorkshire – has now made 102 acquisitions since its founding in 2008.

It latest intake includes Springfield Financial Services, in Preston; Millfield Osceola Financial Consultancy, in Twyford, near Reading; Hawley & Wood, in Rotherham; Fortitude Financial Planning, in Towcester; and Warwick Financial Solutions, in Warwick.

Bosses have also completed deals with Edgmoor Financial Planners, in Manchester; Keith Mason Wealth Management, in Canterbury; reached an agreement with a Teesside client bank and carried out a self-employed adviser buyout.

The agreements come just days after Perspective bought Ipswich’s Clayden Financial Planning, Amersham’s PW White & Partners, Darlington’s Constellation Financial Solutions and the client book of a longstanding self-employed adviser based in its Newcastle office.

Those deals added about £350 million assets under advice to the group’s portfolio, as well as 940 client households, 20 staff and two offices in Ipswich and Amersham.

Ian Wilkinson, Perspective chief executive, said: “The uncertainty around potential tax changes in the Government’s recent budget created a desire from a number of vendors to complete transactions in an accelerated timeframe.

“We are delighted to have been able to respond to the challenge, demonstrating the efficiency of our process and the dedication of our team.

“These nine transactions add a further six offices, which will greatly assist in further delivering our business plan.”

Vanessa Townshend, Springfield Financial Services’ co-owner, said: “After 20 years of working together and growing the firm, managing director Tony Pilkington decided to take retirement.

“When looking for a new owner, our main concern was continuity.

“With Perspective, we are confident we have joined a company that will assist us in continuing to provide high-quality, client-centric advice and provide a welcoming and secure environment for our staff.”
