Durham's Indigo Software bought by US' Aptean Inc
A tech operator known for warehouse management systems has a new owner.
Durham’s Indigo Software has been bought by US-headquartered Aptean Inc.
Officials say the tie-up, confirmed for an undisclosed sum, will allow Indigo to further its “commitment to delivering best-in-class supply chain solutions”.
Founded in 1980, Belmont Business Park-based Indigo Software provides stock and delivery management services to companies including Greene King, Puma, Regatta, Tommee Tippee and Walkers Shortbread.
Its sale was supported by Newcastle-based law firm Hay & Kilner, whose corporate team provided advice to shareholders with support from Ben Jackson, Lydia Sevenoaks, Nicola Tiffen and Sarah Furness.
Darren Baxter, Indigo Software chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to join the Aptean family.
“We are excited to offer our customers even more solutions to help streamline their warehousing operations.”
Duane George, Aptean Inc president of Asia-Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “The Indigo Software platform delivers an integrated suite of purpose-built solutions designed to handle even the most complex warehousing operations.”
Mark Adams, Hay & Kilner corporate partner, added: “It was an absolute pleasure acting for the Indigo shareholders – it’s fantastic to see the success of a North East company being recognised.
“The deal is yet another example of the region’s impressive output in the software sector.”
Tax advice was provided to Indigo Software shareholders by RSM’s Newcastle office.
Aptean Inc was advised by Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP’s London office, Deloitte and Ernst & Young.
