Aston University appoints chief student officer
Aston University has named Clare Gough as its chief student officer, a newly created role aimed at transforming student services as part of the Aston 2030 Strategy.
Reporting to the deputy vice-chancellor (academic), Clare will oversee the entire student lifecycle, from enrolment to graduation, and lead the development of streamlined, digital-first services.
With over a decade of experience in senior roles at universities including Nottingham and Hull, Clare brings extensive expertise in enhancing professional services and delivering exceptional student experiences.
Her leadership will play a pivotal role in achieving Aston’s vision of sector-leading care and support.
She said: “It has been a great pleasure to work with colleagues at Aston University in recent months and it is a privilege to be asked to step into this role."
“Accepting this role allows me to continue a longstanding commitment to the sector. I am truly delighted to have further opportunities to forge relationships with Aston students and colleagues, matching Aston’s energy and ambition.”
