Midlands law firm recognised in prestigious guide

A prominent Midlands law firm has once again earned national recognition for its exceptional legal expertise, with two departments achieving top-tier status in a prestigious industry ranking.

mfg Solicitors has been included in the 2024 edition of the Legal 500, with its contentious probate and agricultural and rural affairs teams retaining their coveted ‘Tier One’ rankings. The contentious probate team secured this status for the 12th consecutive year, while the agricultural team has held the accolade for four years, underscoring their expertise in complex inheritance cases and agricultural law.

Several other departments were praised, including family, commercial property, commercial litigation, corporate, employment and property litigation.

Individual solicitors were also highlighted for their contributions. Robert Weston, a nationally recognised contentious probate expert, maintained his position in the illustrious ‘Hall of Fame’ for a third year in a row, while partners Andrew Chandler, Sam Pedley, Sian Kenkre and David Raymont were recognised in the next generation category. Sally Morris and Clare Regan were named leading experts in employment and commercial property, respectively.

More than 250,000 people were interviewed across the world during the past 12 months to produce the latest Legal 500. Firms and lawyers are recommended purely on merit.

Andrew Davies, partner and managing director at mfg Solicitors, said: “To have so many of our partners and departments highlighted again in this year’s Legal 500 is another proud moment.

“To maintain these consistently high standards really is exceptional, and quite rightly our contentious probate and agricultural teams should be singled out. Led by partners Andrew Chandler and Alexandra Phillips, they have carved out a sought-after reputation.

“I must also give a special mention to partner Robert Weston. To make it a hat-trick of years in the Hall of Fame is unique, and just underlines the high esteem in which he’s held.

“Overall, every single team and partner named in this year’s list thoroughly deserve all the praise and plaudits which come their way. It’s a testament to their professionalism and shows again the quality of advice they provide every day.”
