Chancellor meets North Yorkshire business leaders
Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, joined West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce members in Leeds last Friday (22 November) to discuss key economic and regional priorities.
Hosted at the offices of law firm Schofield Sweeney, the meeting covered a wide range of topics, including growth plans, the budget, challenges in the care sector, manufacturing opportunities and infrastructure development.
Discussions also touched on regional connectivity, changes to planning systems and Yorkshire’s potential to drive the UK economy.
The gathering underscored the importance of collaboration between government and local businesses to address challenges and harness opportunities for growth.
Among those in attendance were Victoria Wainwright from Azets; Adam Brickell from Flutter; Aqila Choudhry from Love in Care; Amanda Beresford from Schoefield Sweeney; and Chris Black from Sound Leisure, as well as Chamber CEO James Mason and head of policy Mark Casci.
James said: “It was a pleasure to host the chancellor today.
“The West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce exists to work alongside the private and public sector and the wide-ranging discussion was a fruitful one.”
