Newcastle and Gateshead gear up for MIPIM 2025
A high-profile delegation from Newcastle and Gateshead is gearing up to promote the region's “incredible potential” and investment opportunities on the international stage.
Destination and inward investment agency NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI) is leading a trip to MIPIM 2025.
Held in Cannes, France, the four-day real estate conference is expected to attract more than 26,000 delegates from more than 100 countries.
Bosses say the North East delegation will showcase transformative projects such as Newcastle Helix and the city's Pilgrim Street, spotlighting the area's track record for successful delivery and its collaborative approach to driving inward investment.
Public and private sector partners, including Newcastle City Council, Gateshead Council, Ryder Architecture, Avison Young, NCG, Eldon Square and Gainford Group will unite under the Invest Newcastle banner.
Sarah Green, chief executive of NGI, which has led delegations to MIPM since 2015, said: “MIPIM is a powerful platform to showcase our incredible potential on a global stage.
“By bringing together public and private sector partners, we amplify the message that Newcastle and Gateshead are destinations for ambitious and transformative investment.”
Michelle Percy, director of investment and growth at Newcastle City Council, added: “Newcastle’s transformation over the years is a testament to our strong working relationships across sectors, and MIPIM provides us with a unique opportunity to present the city’s exceptional assets and opportunities directly to investors and influencers.”
NGI will host a packed programme of panel discussions, presentations and networking events in a dedicated Invest Newcastle pavilion at MIPIM, offering a platform to engage with global investors and industry leaders from across the real estate supply chain.
Anneliese Hutchinson, strategic director for economy, innovation and growth at Gateshead Council, added: “We believe Gateshead is on the cusp of significant, sustainable growth.
“We have clear, deliverable regeneration plans that are bringing a lot of great sites to the market, and MIPIM allows us to directly engage with investors and developers on these opportunities.
“It’s a chance to not only attract investment but to build relationships that ultimately allow everyone to achieve their economic, social and environmental aspirations.”
MIPIM 2025 will be held at the Palace of Festivals and Congresses of Cannes between 11 and 14 March 2025.
