Gateley Legal expands planning team in Reading

Gateley Legal has expanded its South East planning team with the appointment of Kayleigh Chapman as a senior associate at its Reading office.

Kayleigh brings over a decade of experience in planning law, including advisory roles for local authorities and private sector clients across residential development, care and education.

Previously at Shoosmiths and Blandy & Blandy, she is recognised in the 2024 Legal 500 for her expertise in planning and environmental law, including community infrastructure levy advice and enforcement matters.

Kayleigh said: “It’s really exciting to be joining Gateley Legal as it continues to expand its team in the South East.

“As well as the Reading office, there will also be plenty of opportunity for me to work alongside colleagues within the national planning team, as well as the wider Group, to support with a variety of clients within the housebuilding, development and corporate sectors.”

Gateley Legal’s nationwide planning team operates across six UK offices, providing full-service legal solutions for residential and infrastructure projects.

Keith Lancaster, legal director at Gateley Legal, added: “Since I joined Gateley Legal just over two years ago, the team has continued to see a significant increase in instructions for housebuilder clients and on complicated development issues, as well as bread and butter town planning matters.

“It’s great to have Kayleigh onboard as her wealth of experience will add strength and depth to our offering, making her a real asset within our team.

“Our other property teams are also continuing to expand across our South East offices so there is plenty of opportunity for her to work closely alongside them to produce full-service solutions for clients.”
