Yorkshire law firm targets record-breaking 2025
A law firm says it is primed for a record-breaking year.
Leeds-headquartered Ison Harrison says it enjoyed significant growth across all departments in "a highly successful 2024" that was complemented by employee ownership milestones.
The firm posted record turnover of £27 million in 2024, a 23 per cent increase year-on-year, with bosses predicting “2025 will be even more successful and eventful”.
Over the past five years, the firm has doubled its turnover, driven by acquisitions including the takeover of Cohen Cramer Solicitors and strong performances in its property, family and commercial departments, which grew by 33, 29 and 20 per cent, respectively.
Marking its third anniversary as a 100 per cent employee-owned business, the firm, which employs more than 350 staff across the region, distributed £4000 in tax-free profit shares to employees with more than one year’s service.
Officials say it was also the only law firm shortlisted for the ‘UK Employee-Owned Business of the Year’ category at the UK Employee Ownership Awards 2024.
Jonathan Wearing, managing director, said: “Last year proved to be the most successful year in our history, and following our transition to full employee ownership, the firm continues to go from strength-to-strength.
“The efforts of the entire team helped deliver a record year, which has put us in a great position to ensure 2025 will be even more successful and eventful.
“The move to employee ownership was a defining moment.
“As the firm continues to expand its significant presence across Yorkshire, the flexible structure that employee ownership provides offers the ideal platform for future growth, attracting fresh talent and providing stability for existing staff.”
Jonathan added: “In 2025, we can build on the outstanding achievements of 2024, boosting our presence and visibility in the region by opening more offices and increasing the employee headcount.
“I’m immensely proud of the great strides made in 2024, and look forward to building on this in 2025 and beyond.”
