Business week set to boost South Coast firms
A free-to-attend event celebrating the regional business community is set to return next month, offering firms across Portsmouth and the South Coast a platform to network, access expert advice and tackle economic challenges.
Portsmouth & South Coast Business Week, running from 24 to 28 February, is spearheaded by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with industry, education and public sector partners.
Events will take place in Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport, Fareham and Southampton, with sessions streamed live online.
The week will feature business clinics, networking opportunities and workshops covering topics including bid writing, skills funding, AI and green growth.
Open-door visits will also give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at local businesses, while an alternative recruitment day will connect jobseekers with potential employers.
Ross McNally, executive chairman of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Now is the ideal time for local businesses, especially our SMEs, to come together for mutual support, find solutions to the economic challenges we face and go for growth.
“That’s exactly the focus of the week.
“We offer a well-designed, interactive programme of events celebrating and championing the potential of businesses in all sectors across our region – and it’s all free.
“If you want to explore funding advice, discover the latest thinking on technology and business practice, be inspired by fellow entrepreneurs and engage with skills and training providers, this is your chance.”
Councillor Steve Pitt, cabinet member for economic development at Portsmouth City Council, added: “The week will offer an invaluable platform for our region’s businesses to network, learn and grow.
“By fostering collaboration and innovation, we’re strengthening our region’s economy and equipping our workforce for the future.
“We encourage everyone to join the conversation and seize the opportunities this week presents.”
