Swinburne Maddison adds to dispute resolution team

Durham-based law firm Swinburne Maddison has appointed Helen Lyne as a commercial litigation partner, further expanding its dispute resolution team.

Helen, who qualified in 2012 from the University of Northumbria, joins from two prominent Teesside law firms, bringing a strong network of business clients and extensive experience in litigation and insolvency cases.

In her new role, she will work alongside dispute resolution partner David Low to generate new instructions and support the firm’s growing client base.

She said: “Swinburne Maddison are a highly regarded independent law firm, and I have been consistently impressed with the firm’s growth and the excellent reputation in the North East and beyond.

“The team’s reputation in dispute resolution and the firm’s ambitious aspirations for the future made joining them a hugely exciting opportunity and a bit of a no brainier.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with a team whose ethos is as much client and employee focused.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to develop my own skills and experience further and to contribute to expanding the range of legal services offered by Swinburne Maddison which from everything I have seen so far, are first class.”

Her appointment is part of Swinburne Maddison’s ongoing expansion, bringing the dispute resolution team to 26 members and reinforcing its presence in the North East business community.

Jonathan Moreland, Swinburne Maddison’s managing partner and head of dispute resolution, added: “We are delighted to welcome Helen to the firm.

“Last year, our commercial litigation team earned a top tier ranking in the latest Legal 500.

“Helen’s appointment will enhance the expertise of our team and align perfectly with our ambitious growth plans.

“With an incredibly impressive track record and standing in the profession, Helen is a remarkable addition, and we are excited to have her on board.”
