Mincoffs kicks off another season with Northern
A Newcastle-based corporate law firm is continuing its commitment to grassroots sport by renewing its sponsorship of the region’s oldest rugby club.
Mincoffs Solicitors has returned as shirt sponsor for Northern Football Club’s youth and mini teams, providing backing for the upcoming season.
Founded in 1875 and based at McCracken Park, in Gosforth, Northern has 14 junior teams – ranging in age from under 6s to under 16s – as well as strong ties with Newcastle Falcons, helping young players progress through development pathways.
Ben Hunter, chair of youth rugby at Northern Football Club, said: “As chair of youth rugby, I would like to thank Mincoffs on behalf of all at Northern for their continued partnership.
“This will help us continue to support all the age groups to develop the players as individuals and as a team.
“The funds are used to support players throughout the season and help the teams go on a mini tour.
“This trip away is a highlight of the year where players strengthen friendships, create memories and celebrate the successes of the season.”
Mincoffs, which has over 115 staff in Jesmond, actively supports local sports and community initiatives as part of its wider ESG strategy.
Paul Hughes, senior partner and head of corporate at Mincoffs, added: “After a fantastic last season across all age groups, we’re delighted to be backing Northern Football Club as shirt sponsor for another year.
“The club provides a really important space for young people and allows them to develop skills such as resilience, commitment and working together as a team, which will set them in great stead for their futures.
“Northern Football Club does amazing work for the North East sporting community and are an organisation we are proud to support.”
