Sheffield Forgemasters launches apprentice drive
An engineering firm has launched a recruitment drive for apprentices to join its award-winning apprenticeship scheme.
Sheffield Forgemasters is seeking 21 apprentices, offering opportunities across various sectors of production, maintenance, technical, health & safety and office-based roles.
The company, which is owned by the Ministry of Defence and recently announced a multi-million-pound contract with GH Cranes, is investing £900 million to enhance its state-of-the-art facilities, with a new 13,000 tonne forging line and machining capabilities.
Bosses say the recruitment drive is the first of two planned for the year, with more roles to be announced soon.
Emily Wynne, people development advisor – early careers at Sheffield Forgemasters, said: “Our recapitalisation programme is well underway and we are seeking out the most capable and committed individuals to join our team at this transformative time.
“Sheffield Forgemasters has an exciting future following the MoD acquisition, and we are driving forward with the programme to create next-level engineering skills-sets for defence and civil nuclear markets.
“Successful candidates will receive fully funded training, working towards a professional qualification whilst getting paid, and will have a future career in one of the most advanced engineering facilities of its kind.”
The closing date for Sheffield Forgemasters’ 2025 apprentice applications is April 13.
