SMEs urged to think big at Newcastle event
Business owners and entrepreneurs gathered in Newcastle to explore strategies for scaling and sustaining their companies in a challenging economic climate.
The Unstoppable: Own Your Legacy event, hosted by Tennick Accountants and sponsored by Allica Bank, took place at Newcastle Helix on March 26, aiming to empower SMEs to thrive, invest and grow despite an economy often favouring large corporations.
Industry leaders and expert speakers, including bestselling authors and TEDx presenters, shared insights on business growth, financial strategies and brand building.
Attendees heard from BBC presenter Alfie Joey, entrepreneur James Ashford and Tennick Accountants’ founder Graeme Tennick.
They were joined by Sarah Pittendrigh, author of The ‘I Can’ Method, musician and TEDx speaker Mark Deeks, and Steven Smillie, relationship manager at Allica Bank.
Beyond business insights, the event also raised over £2000 for local charities, while encouraging open conversations about success and challenges in entrepreneurship.
Reflecting on the event, which was very well received, Graeme said: “The North East is such an amazing place, but one which does not recognise or speak of this enough.
“This event truly demonstrated the impact that can be made when we speak up in times of struggle and success and from it, I can already see how we can rightly put the area on a better platform to realise its potential.”
