Burnetts appoint two equity partners
Newcastle-based Burnetts Solicitors LLP has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Paul Brown and Nicola Nutley as equity partners.
Paul, a specialist in serious injury and current president of Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society, joined Burnetts in 2018 and leads on brain injury cases.
He said: “I am very proud to become an equity partner here at Burnetts, where I have truly found my place.
“I am delighted to work at a firm where everyone is valued and there is a real feeling of togetherness.
“I look forward to working with my partners, colleagues and fantastic team to build upon our successes and grow the firm further across the North East and Cumbria.”
Nicola, who joined in 2021, heads both the firm’s Newcastle office and its banking and property finance team, advising on complex funding transactions across multiple sectors.
She added: “From the very first day that I joined Burnetts, I felt at home.
“I was inspired by the collaborative and supportive ethos of the firm and all of the talented and dedicated people who work here.
“I am delighted and honoured to be given the opportunity to join the equity partnership.
“It is very exciting for me to be involved in helping to drive the business during a period of growth, especially by cementing Burnett’s presence in the Newcastle business community and by enhancing the nationwide reputation of the fantastic banking and property finance team which I lead.”
Their appointments follow a year of growth for the firm, including a £1 million relocation to new offices at Citygate in March 2024.
Nick Gutteridge, Burnetts’ managing partner, added: “Paul and Nicola absolutely embody our values and their care for and dedication to our clients, is exceptional.
“We couldn’t ask for better examples of what we stand for here at Burnetts and so it’s with great pleasure that we welcome them as equity partners.”
