Freeths appoints new head of restructuring
National full-service law firm Freeths has appointed Kevin Pinkerton as the new national head of restructuring and insolvency following the retirement of leading partner Joey Byrne in April.
Joey, who joined Freeths in 2006 and built its Manchester office into a thriving multi-disciplinary team, has led the firm's national restructuring and insolvency practice for almost 20 years.
Under his leadership, the team grew into a market leader, recently named the highest-performing insolvency firm by volume of claims for the second consecutive year in Solomonic’s Year in Review.
Kevin, now taking over as national head, will continue to drive the team’s success and build on the legacy Joey has created.
He said: “I have worked with highly skilled and dedicated people who have played a pivotal part in helping to build the insolvency practice here at Freeths to what it is today.
“I am extremely grateful for their support, and I am confident the team will continue that progression further under Kevin’s leadership.
“None of what has been achieved could have been done without the support of our clients for whom it has been my pleasure and privilege to work for and with.
“I am very much looking forward to taking on this role at what is an exciting time for the firm amongst a backdrop of year-on-year strategic growth.
“We have ambitious expansion plans for the restructuring and insolvency practice, and I will be collaborating closely with colleagues across our 13 offices to further develop the offering nationally for our valued clients.”
