Burnetts celebrates year of growth at Citygate
A Newcastle-based law firm is celebrating a year of expansion and high-value deals after relocating to a new office space in the city.
Burnetts Solicitors LLP has advised on more than 150 corporate and commercial property deals worth £455 million, while its banking and property finance team have facilitated over £600 million in new lending across England and Wales, completing more than 350 banking transactions, during its first year at Citygate.
The firm’s relocation from Milburn House in March 2024 coincided with key promotions and top tier rankings from Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
Notable deals included the sale of Simply Certification and Brighter Compliance to Normec UK Certification, while the commercial property team acted on over 60 deals with a value of £55 million, including £12m of construction transactions and the sale of Benton Business Park.
Nicola Nutley, Burnetts’ head of Newcastle and head of the banking and property finance team, said: “We made a seven-figure investment in our relocation to Citygate and in doing so, demonstrated our commitment to becoming an intrinsic part of Newcastle’s corporate landscape, so we’re very happy to see this vision coming to fruition.
“The level of specialism and expertise in our commercial teams is remarkable – as demonstrated in these figures – and it’s great to see this being recognised in the form of increased demand for our services.”
