Shawton Energy powers ahead with Co-op deal
A renewables technology firm says it is primed to power up its market presence after securing a supermarket deal.
Shawton Energy has been appointed to a Co-op framework to support the installation of rooftop solar systems across the retailer’s UK estate.
The Newton-le-Willows-based company will work alongside delivery partner Sol PV Group to design, develop, fund and manage solar panels.
Jamie Shaw, Shawton Energy chief executive, said: “By generating renewable energy on site, the Co-op will benefit from greater environmental efficiencies and protection against energy market volatility.
“Securing a place on this framework further reinforces our expertise in delivering corporate renewable energy solutions.”
Tony Waite, chief executive at Hebden Bridge-based Sol PV Group, added: “This collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting businesses in their transition to sustainable energy solutions.
“This is a fantastic step towards a greener, more resilient future for UK retail.”
