Newcastle Airport takes off with new summer routes
An airport is soaring into summer with new airlines and destinations joining its expanding schedule.
Newcastle International Airport will welcome two new airline partners in May – Norwegian Airlines and Blue Islands – while also launching four new routes to Berlin, Copenhagen, Guernsey and Agadir.
Eurowings has already begun twice-weekly flights to Berlin, while Norwegian Airlines is now flying to Copenhagen.
Guernsey will join the schedule from May 6 via Blue Islands, while TUI will launch weekly flights to Agadir, in Morocco, on May 5.
In addition to the new destinations, SunExpress will also expand its offering from the airport with new flights to Dalaman, operating every Wednesday and Sunday.
Leon McQuaid, director of aviation development, said: “We are delighted to be launching new routes to Berlin, Copenhagen, Guernsey and Agadir.
“The arrival of Norwegian Airlines and Blue Islands, alongside continued investment from Eurowings, SunExpress and TUI, further enhances our growing route network with passengers able to fly directly to 84 destinations and more than 300 onward connections worldwide.”
