Tech test firm RoBAT joins Swedish group
A Cheshire-based electronics company has been bought by a hi-tech group.
RoBAT, which designs robotic testing machines for printed circuit boards, has been sold to Nasdaq-listed Swedish firm Mycronic.
The Macclesfield business employs 27 staff and also operates in China and the US, recording £3 million in net sales in 2024.
The deal was supported by North West law firm Bermans.
Bermans’ Manchester corporate team – Laura McMorland, Charlotte Mills and Nathan Hughes – advised RoBAT’s shareholders Colin Barker and Bruce Nockton, while Mary Tierney and Rick Payne from Bennett Brooks provided accountancy, tax and corporate finance support.
Laura said: “It was our pleasure to advise the selling shareholders of RoBAT.
“We look forward to seeing its continued success in the future under Mycronic ownership.”
Mycronic was advised by CMS, led by partner Eva Talmacsi.
