Muckle LLP strengthens leadership team
Award-winning North East law firm Muckle LLP has made three senior promotions, reinforcing its succession plans as it enters a new phase of growth.
Corporate finance partner Philip Clare, who has spent his entire legal career at Muckle, becomes head of corporate, succeeding Anthony Evans following his appointment as managing partner in April.
Gail Bennett, a real estate partner since 2012, has been named head of the real estate team, taking over from Jonathan Combe, who led the team for 30 years and remains with the firm to support the transition.
Joanne Davison, a leading specialist in education law who originally trained at Muckle, becomes head of the sports, education and charities team.
She takes over from Tony McPhillips, who also remains a partner.
With nearly 70 years of combined experience at the firm, the three will help steer Muckle’s continued growth, innovation and commitment to client service.
Anthony Evans, managing partner at Muckle, said: “I'm delighted to welcome Philip, Gail, and Joanne into their new roles; three fantastic lawyers and leaders who have already made a massive contribution to the firm.
“Their expertise, dedication and deep understanding of the firm will, I am sure, enable them to be hugely successful in their new roles.
“It’s an exciting time for the firm as we build on the last ten years under Jason’s leadership.
“I am looking forward to working with our new team heads to take us forward.
“I’d also like to give a huge thank you to Jonathan and Tony for their immense dedication and service over many years, and for their ongoing support for Gail and Joanne.”
