Weightmans bolsters sector expertise with six new partners
National law firm Weightmans has announced six new partner appointments to support its growing sector services and go-to-market strategy.
In health, Damian Whitlam joins the Leeds team from Browne Jacobson, bringing over 20 years’ clinical negligence experience to bolster legal services for NHS Resolution and healthcare indemnity providers.
Neil Bhan joins the expanding London pensions practice from Capsticks, with a strong NHS and healthcare employer background.
Meanwhile, Donna Brennan joins the Glasgow private client team from Blackadders, specialising in complex private wealth, succession planning, tax and trusts.
Other appointments include Douglas Marshall in Birmingham’s energy and utilities team, Paul Luukas in Liverpool’s insolvency and recoveries team, and competition law specialist Angela Gregson in Manchester, focused on maintaining the firm’s tier 1 competition law status.
Weightmans recently recorded its strongest financial results and won major awards for its ESG programme and Top Employer status.
From April 1, Sarah Walton became the firm’s first female managing partner, succeeding John Schorah after 12 years.
She said: “I am thrilled to welcome our new partners to the firm.
“Each brings years’ worth of experience that will be instrumental in driving our continued growth and evolution to top 30 and helping us further expand the services we offer our clients.
“I wish them all the best with their future careers at Weightmans, and I look forward to seeing their contributions.”
