TIS secures five-year deal with MoD
A tech firm is set to expand its defence work after securing a major contract to support the Royal Navy’s internal communication systems.
Total Integrated Solutions (TIS), based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, has been awarded a multi-million-pound, five-year agreement by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to deliver in-service support across the Royal Navy fleet.
The contract includes an option for a two-year extension and covers critical systems such as internal communications, CCTV, PABX and flight deck communications.
Bosses say the agreement will see TIS provide supply and manufacture, repair services and post-design support to ensure operational continuity for the Navy’s vessels operating in challenging environments.
James Twigg, chief executive of TIS, said: “It's a privilege to continue our 40-year partnership with the Ministry of Defence, supporting the Royal Navy with our expertise in converged security, surveillance and communications solutions.
“This contract is a testament to our long-standing commitment to delivering mission-critical technologies to those who serve and protect our nation.”
With more than 40 years of experience delivering compliant security, surveillance and communication systems to the UK’s armed forces, TIS will help future-proof naval operations as the fleet navigates legacy system upgrades.
Air Commodore Pete Saul OBE, head of command and control, targeting, navigation and communications at Defence Equipment & Support, a MoD agency responsible for procuring and supporting equipment and services for the UK’s armed forces, added: “This contract for the in-service support of internal communication systems is vital for ensuring the Navy’s fleets remain at the cutting edge of operational readiness.
“In the face of ever evolving global challenges, our ongoing partnership with TIS underlines our commitment to ensuring the continued prosperity and security of our nation.”
