Knights eyeing further takeovers as profits rise
A national professional services firm has refused to rule out further takeovers after market moves helped bolster earnings.
Knights says it is “considering selective acquisitions from a healthy pipeline” to capitalise on a strong financial performance.
Bosses unveiled the blueprint after latest figures showed it is set to book increased underlying annual pre-tax profit of £28 million in the year to April 30.
Full-year revenues are also tipped to rise eight per cent to £162 million.
Highlighting the impact of the firm’s “compelling corporate model”, they also pointed to the traction created by multi-million-pound deals for Thursfields and IBB Law, and the anticipated boost from a recent £16.6 million agreement for Essex-based law firm Birkett Long.
Hailing its results, chief executive David Beech said the firm – whose UK-wide office portfolio includes sites in Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and Oxford – has made “significant progress”.
He said: “We are now recognised as the UK’s only legal services firm with true national scale that retains a strong regional focus.
“Our reputation for quality of service and a unique culture also allows us to recruit the highest quality talent, which has driven this strong performance.
“And with the group experiencing a return to lower levels of churn in the second half of the financial year and positive momentum continuing into the current year, we remain confident of delivering further growth in the 2026 financial year.”
Knights’ office estate stretches across the UK, from Carlisle and Stockton to Leeds, Sheffield and York.
It has further bases in Brighton, Cheltenham, Chester, Leicester, Portsmouth, Stoke, Weybridge and Wilmslow.
