Tees Valley targets billions in investment at UKREiiF

A Tees Valley delegation has spotlighted major regeneration, innovation and town centre projects to global investors at a leading UK property event.

Representatives from the region’s five local authorities – Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees – joined forces at UKREiiF 2025, in Leeds, to showcase the scale of opportunity across the region. 

Across the three days of the event, the delegation promoted Tees Valley's £160 million investment zone and its two mayoral development corporations, both central to plans to “supercharge” growth in the digital, creative and clean energy sectors.

Headline launches included Middlesbrough’s “flagship” £200 million Crown Square scheme and Stockton’s new Care and Health Innovation Zone. 

Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen said: “The reception our projects received – from the massive redevelopment at Teesworks in Redcar and Cleveland, to Darlington cementing its place as a civil service powerhouse and Hartlepool’s rapidly expanding film studios – shows the national and international confidence we’re building.

“These events are more than just talk, they’re the shopfront to show off our ambition and bring even more investment through the door. 

“That means more good-quality, well-paid jobs for local people, more money in their pockets, better services and, ultimately, a healthier and happier region.”

Siobhan McArdle, chair of the Tees Valley Business Board, added: “Our presence at UKREiiF underlined the confidence and capability of Tees Valley’s business community to help drive real, meaningful change. 

“It was inspiring to see our public and private sectors standing shoulder to shoulder, telling a joined-up story of transformation, talent and tenacity.

“We are not just breaking boundaries, we’re redefining what this region can achieve.”

Backed by the Tees Valley Combined Authority, the delegation was supported by Teesside University, K2 Construction Management, Double Eleven, North East Screen, Generator, Pneuma Group, Alt Labs and Radical Forge.
