Lawfront expands with Trethowans agreement
A legal services group has expanded with a takeover.
Lawfront has bought Trethowans.
Bosses say the deal will “accelerate” Southampton, Salisbury, Winchester, Bournemouth and Poole-based Trethowans’ growth plans.
They add it boosts Lawfront’s group fee income to more than £130 million and represents the firm’s largest deal to date.
Neil Lloyd, chief executive at Lawfront – which has partner firms across England and earlier this year bought Brachers – praised Trethowans’ “no-nonsense approach to legal services”.
He said: “I am delighted to welcome another partner to our rapidly-growing group.
“The high-quality firms, such as Trethowans, that have partnered with Lawfront are testament to our leading position.
“I really look forward to working with the Trethowans’ team to continue and accelerate its growth.”
Mike Watson, Trethowans’ managing partner, said the deal provides the firm with a platform to build on recent turnover growth of more than 20 per cent.
He added: “Our Lawfront partnership presents an excellent opportunity to underpin and accelerate our growth.
“With Lawfront’s support, we look forward to expanding the Trethowans brand within our existing office locations and beyond.”
Carl Harring, chief executive at Blixt, Lawfront’s private equity backer, added: “Trethowans is a great addition for Lawfront, bringing a leading presence in a new region and great leadership.”
