Richard Reed Solicitors promotes trainee solicitor
Sunderland-based Richard Reed Solicitors is celebrating the promotion of trainee solicitor Lewis Cassap, just three years after joining the firm.
Lewis started in July 2022 and has quickly progressed to solicitor, working across dispute resolution and corporate and commercial teams.
Once aiming to join the RAF, Lewis has redirected his ambition and is now excelling in law.
He said: "I am excited and honoured to be promoted to solicitor.
“I enjoy working between the two departments and this way of working can give a real advantage point as we are clearer as to where potential problems may arise.
“I really like the different aspects, corporate commercial is very fast paced, and it’s great to see the steps and completion days, whereas litigation can be a lot more analytical.”
Under the guidance of director Phil Moir, Lewis and the team have supported clients across industries such as manufacturing and online retail.
The firm has seen sales and completions exceeding £5 million this financial year, with deals expected to double to £10 million.
Phil added: “We are thrilled with the promotion of Lewis to solicitor.
“Throughout his tenure with us, he has proven to be an invaluable asset to our firm, has made excellent progress and has really stepped up when needed.
“Lewis embodies the values of excellence, integrity and dedication that we strive for at Richard Reed Solicitors.
“Lewis has consistently demonstrated exceptional legal expertise, a commitment to client success and a strong work ethic.
“I really can’t praise him enough and we look forward to seeing his continued growth and success.”
Richard Reed Solicitors’ 40-strong team is known for expert legal advice and a personalised, client-focused approach.
Lewis now aims to broaden his profile in the city and develop a legal niche.
He added: “The next stage of my journey is really pivotal and I look forward to optimising and growing my network and client base further to build enhanced relationships, referrals and reputation as this is key at the firm.
“Continuous personal development is also very important to me, and with the developments around Sunderland Music City and Crown Works Studio, I’m interested in taking a course in entertainment law imminently.”
