Homes for Students expands legal team
Harrogate-headquartered Homes for Students has appointed Paul Balderson as group legal director.
Paul will oversee legal matters across HFS, Orla Living and VervLife, supporting growth through acquisitions and client partnerships.
He brings over 14 years’ experience from private practice and senior in-house roles.
Paul said: “Having admired Homes for Students and its co-chief executive Martin Corbett for many years, I was attracted to the business’ diverse growth trajectory, and I wanted to be on that exciting journey.
“I enjoy working in the accommodation sector and Homes for Students is a name that resonates with excellence, with an impressive award-winning reputation.”
Martin Corbett, co-chief executive of Homes for Students, added: “Having Paul onboard is a huge benefit to our team and clients and will enable me to focus more strategically on our continued expansion into Europe with our Orla Living brand, as the group turnover approaches £100 million.
“Paul will support our professional but non-adversarial approach to clients and our supply chain.
“His legal acumen, hospitality sector experience, and commercial mindset make him a great fit for our business and our clients.”
