Story Homes submits plans for new scheme
A housebuilder is planning a major new development in Nunthorpe.
Story Homes has submitted a planning application to Middlesbrough Council for 205 homes on land at Nunthorpe Grange.
The proposed development includes a mix of three to six-bedroom properties, alongside enhanced pedestrian and cycle links and a sustainable drainage system.
Officials say the scheme is designed to complement existing local facilities and tie in with council plans for a new community centre.
They add it also promises environmental benefits, with biodiversity improvements and green spaces to support the surrounding landscape.
Amanda Stephenson, head of land for Story Homes North East, said: “Nunthorpe is a highly desirable location with a strong sense of community, and we’re proud to bring forward proposals that not only deliver much-needed homes but also enhance local amenities and green infrastructure.
“Our plans are focused on creating a vibrant, sustainable and well-connected neighbourhood that fits seamlessly with the existing character of the area.”
Story Homes is currently working with the council on a Section 106 agreement covering education, open space and transport, as well as an off-site affordable housing contribution.
A planning decision is expected by winter 2025.
