Two new equity partners at MD Law
Sheffield-based legal firm MD Law has marked its tenth anniversary by promoting James Burdekin and Kelly Wharin to equity partner.
James, who joined in 2021, leads the firm’s growing corporate team, completing 45 transactions worth £80 million last year.
Kelly became a partner in 2021 and brings over a decade of litigation experience across a broad range of complex disputes.
The promotions strengthen the firm’s senior team as it continues to grow nationally in insolvency, dispute resolution, and corporate law.
Matthew Dixon, founder and partner of MD Law, said: “In ten years we have established ourselves as a strong performer and competitor, excelling in niche areas.
“After starting out with a focus on high tailored services on insolvency, litigation and dispute resolution, the freedom to specialise has now meant expansion to offer advice on company, commercial property and employment matters, without diluting the expertise.
“The firm has now grown to employ 20 staff with 18 fee earners.
“We welcome James and Kelly as equity partners and look forward to see how further they can shape the firm’s culture, workflows, and strategic goals, and help it adapt quickly to changes in the UK legal market.”
