Mincoffs toasts success of networking event
A Newcastle law firm’s women’s networking event is celebrating a decade of success and community support.
Mincoffs Solicitors launched Fizz in the City in 2015 to create an informal space for women in business across the North East.
Held three times a year and free to attend, the event connects women across industries while supporting regional charities.
Fizz in the City recently marked its tenth anniversary with more than 100 attendees at Jesmond’s As You Like It, featuring a live performance from North East string quartet Aurora Strings and fundraising for The Millin Charity.
Over the past decade, it has raised thousands of pounds for local causes, including The Angelou Centre, Maggie’s Newcastle, Chuf, COCO, NE Youth, The Children’s Foundation and Children’s Cancer North, with Mincoffs matching funds raised on the day.
Julie Parr, chief operating officer at Mincoffs Solicitors, said: “Fizz in the City started from a simple conversation between colleagues and has grown into a great force for good when it comes to fostering connections, building community and supporting women in business.
“We are particularly proud of the charities we have given a platform to and supported over the years, highlighting the incredible work they do across the North East and further afield.
“We were delighted to see so many familiar and new faces come to our anniversary celebration, some of whom had been attending Fizz in the City since the very first event, and we look forward to continuing to welcome them for many years to come.”
