Peter Ross adds commercial law team
Peter Ross has launched a new commercial law department following the appointment of experienced North East solicitor John Cook.
John joins the Whickham-headquartered firm alongside long-time colleagues Katie Richardson and Laura Thomas.
The team, formerly of Butterworths Solicitors, will be based in Peter Ross’s Jarrow office and specialise in commercial property transactions, acquisitions, investments and business sales.
John said, “I’m delighted to be joining Peter Ross & Co at such an exciting time.
“Legal services are diversifying at a faster pace than ever before and we see a real opportunity for a commercial property offering that sits in the market as a viable alternative to city firms.
“We want to be first call for clients when looking for a commercial property lawyer and we’re really looking forward to welcoming clients of Peter Ross & Co both old and new to the team.”
The move signals the firm’s commitment to growing its national business client base, with plans already underway to expand into Cumbria with a new office in Penrith.
Peter Ross added: “We’ve focused heavily on residential conveyancing and our more general private client services for some time.
“Now, we’re proud to offer a high-quality, commercial solution for our business clients needing easy-to-access legal support.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have John and his team on board.”
