Heart of the City project scoops accolade
A regeneration project has earned an industry accolade.
The Heart of the City development, a joint effort between Sheffield City Council and Queensberry Real Estate, has been named Commercial Public – Private Partnership of the Year at the Property Week Property Awards.
The partnership has transformed much of Sheffield city centre, blending office spaces, retail units, residential apartments and leisure venues.
Among the development’s highlights are award-winning venues such as Pounds Park and Cambridge Street Collective Food Hall.
Councillor Ben Miskell, chair of the transport, regeneration and climate policy committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “Our fantastic Heart of the City development has improved that area of the city centre beyond all recognition.
“Working alongside Queensberry has allowed the project to fulfil all of its objectives, and it has now become a focal point for residents, businesses and a must-see for visitors to Sheffield.
“This award is the perfect recognition for the job both teams have done in working together.”
Paul Sargent, founder of Queensberry, added: “Winning the award is particularly special.
“We were up against seven strong contenders, and we’re thrilled a panel of our peers could see the incredible value and innovation our partnership has created.”
