Funding adds up to global growth for education firm
An international education provider aims to expand its global footprint after securing eight-figure support.
Orbital Education has been backed by HSBC UK.
Bosses say the funding will allow the Cheshire-based organisation to “take over additional private schools around the world”.
The firm operates in Hungary, Slovenia, Qatar, Ecuador and China, with its financial support building on a previous revolving HSBC credit facility that allowed it to buy further schools in Albania, Spain and Mexico.
Founded in 2008, Orbital Education supports more than 7000 students between three and 18 across 128 nationalities through British, bilingual and country-specific curriculums.
Kevin McNeany, founder of Cheadle Hulme-based Orbital Education, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with HSBC UK as we embark on the next phase of growth.
“Securing additional facilities worldwide will allow us to continue acquiring schools in new and familiar countries.”
Zubayr Atcha, HSBC UK global relationship director, added: “We are proud to provide further support to Orbital Education as it continues its international expansion plans.
“It will help them provide enhanced learning opportunities for children across diverse communities globally.”
