Construction firm builds with museum project
A construction firm has boosted its heritage sector presence with a museum contract.
Hobson & Porter is renovating and expanding the National Holocaust Museum.
Work will include a collections store extension in 19th-century cottages, a larger toilet block and new drainage.
The project comes after Hull-headquartered Hobson & Porter worked on a £5 million scheme to upgrade visitor spaces at the attraction, which is based in Laxton, Nottinghamshire.
Bosses say the follow-up scheme will be completed by the end of October.
Steve Musgrave, Hobson & Porter contracts manager, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be continuing our work with the National Holocaust Museum team and partners.
“Phase two builds on the structural improvements we've already delivered and focuses on the long-term sustainability and functionality of the site.”
Janet Mills, of the National Holocaust Museum, added: “These extensions and infrastructure upgrades are vital to our future growth.
“As we welcome thousands of schoolchildren and visitors annually, these enhancements reflect our commitment to education, remembrance and resilience.”
